Abstract: ABSTRACT:- In sewerage system the function of carrying sewage is done through well planned distribution system choosing suitable diameter of pipes as it comprises the major investment in the system. Analysis and design of a pipe network system is a complex and time taking work. In this report a simple method is discussed which can be used suitably for optimal design of pipe networks for the sewerage system. The problem has thus been solved with a view to reduce the total cost of pipe network satisfying the required amount discharge in the outlet. Manning's Formula has been used for estimating the required discharge in each outlet of the pipe network, and optimization of the system has been done to reduce the cost with the help of Microsoft-excel. Separate collection system for collection of storm water and sewage is used. A study on untreated waste water and treated effluent has been performed. The present study involves the analysis of pH value, total solids, total suspended solids, hardness, acidity, alkalinity, chloride, chlorine, BOD, DO, COD, etc.
