The Partition of India-Pakistan was one of the most traumatic events experienced by people in the recent times. The massacre that followed the event was barbaric. The violence provoked by a handful of selfish and insensible people made Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs commit various inhuman crimes on each other. As the two countries were formed largely on the basis of religion, the people who were in minority in a region were forced to leave their homes and all their life-long possessions. The partition resulted in creation of approximately ten million refugees and at least one million deaths.en_US
