Principled form of text organisation is one of the features that contribute to coherence. The present study examines the quantitative changes occur in the organisation of persuasive texts written by the cross-sectional groups of students learning English as a second language in the environment of their mother tongue. A reader-based approach is used to identify the various characteristics of the principled form of organisation. The analysis reflects that qualitative changes occur in the writing of students as they progress to higher grades.en_US
