Abstract: Abstract Increased urbanization and globalization have led to marked increase in use of consumer products with the use of electronics being the most prevalent. Wherein in one aspect it has led to global connectivity and social inclusivity, adversely it has led to generation of e-waste in massive proportions. In principle, e-waste comprises of precious heavy metals which are highly toxic in nature and thereby have severe human and environmental effects if disposed of unscientifically. The chapter deals with the different aspects of e-waste generation in India, its potential environmental health and environmental impacts, and associated legislative measures and discusses sustainable methods for effective disposal of generated e-waste including the commercial viability of such waste.
