dc.description.abstract | Objectives: To develop software that restricts the movement of data outside an organization; monitors and controls data exchange between the computer and the USB. The software will allow the transfer of legitimate data and data types to and from USB drives but any unsolicited activity like data theft; unwanted data/malware injection/planting etc. will be inhibited. Implementation: The software will employ software based encryption technique. All data leaving via the USB port into a flash disk will be encrypted with a specific key. While transferring data back to the company computer, only those files will be copied that had been encrypted using this specific key. The software will ensure that all transfers are made using the monitoring and encryption software. | en_US |
