Abstract: A proper cost analysis and design of a rigid pavement on a section of NH-3 using DPR(detailed project report) provided by NHAI(National Highways Authority of India). By using method given in IRC 58 (The design of plain jointed rigid pavements for highways), the thickness of rigid pavement is determined. We will have to find out the modulus of subgrade and modulus of rupture to determine thickness. Modulus of subgrade will depend on its CBR value, which will be determined from the report provided by NHAI. Later we will design tie bars and dowel bars to make our pavement of greater strength and as well as economic. The cost estimation of the flexible pavement will be considered from the report itself whereas the cost estimation of rigid pavement will be calculated once it is designed. Taking into account the maintenance cost of both the pavements up till 10 years cost analysis will be done and results will be drawn.
