Abstract: Forest are great source of plants and herbs having high medicinal properties and they are used from the ancient time for the treatment of the various disease. Valeriana jatamansi and Rhodiola imbricata are one of the high therapeutic value plants. Valeriana jatamansi family-Valerianaceae) called locally muskbala. It grow at higher altitude ranging from 3000-4500 m. The variety Rhodiola contains around 24 distinct species, which is available in the trans Himalayan range at the height of 4000-5000 m.
