Digital ledger technology dubbed blockchain makes it achievable for keeping secure, public, and decentralised records. Because it is a distributed database that is maintained and examined by a network of computers rather than a single authority, it is impervious to fraud and manipulation. Every PC, or "hub," in a blockchain network has an extra copy of the data set. Before a new transaction gets uploaded to the blockchain as a data block, the network verifies it. Every block is cryptographically associated with the one before it, forming a chain of blocks and giving rise to the term "blockchain."en_US
